Almost Done Cooking!

Hello all, yet again! I am happy to say that I am in my final week of cooking. I'm successfully done with 50 of the 60 recipes I'm using, and I also realized something I had originally overlooked. I thought my cookbook was going to be roughly 70 pages. But, I completely forgot that each recipe is going to be a two page spread. So, 60 recipes x 2 pages per each recipe? 120 pages. And, in addition to that, I will have about 10-20 additional pages for into, table of contents, about the book, and the index section in the back.

I have also realized that there is no way I will be able to finish the entire cookbook to the caliber I want this to be in the little amount of time I have left. Since I need to print before the Thesis Show on April 26th, I actually need to be done with  whatever-it-is I will be printing by the end of next week. So I have made a decision as far as the Thesis Show is concerned; I am going to print a "Taster" (get it? instead of a "teaser", a "taster?") Cookbook. I other words, I am going to make a mini version of my cookbook to show what I've done, what I'm doing with it, and where I want to take this book.

After graduation I will be finishing, refining, and engulfing myself into completing this book, as well as really researching my options for publishing. I want this to really be an awesome experience to read, cook from, and share with others. I am more confident than ever in my strategy for this and the approach I am taking. Oh, and I'm getting close to having a final title (I'm pretty sure)!!! What I do know for sure is that the subtitle is going to be, "A Visual Cookbook for Visual People". I've been referring to my book that way from the very beginning, and it still feels suiting. After all, I am not a chef, I'm just a graphic designer with a passion for the culinary arts.

While I am almost done cooking, I fell a little behind this week due to getting really sick, but I started working on the layout and book itself in my down time. I am really looking forward to producing this book. :) I will be posting photos of my progress next week, for I will have a lot more [fun and exciting things] to show then!

Onward and upward!
