Icons, Icons, Icons
Hey folks! Well, I have definitely taken a larger undertaking. I think its finally hitting me how much I have been doing and will continue to do upon graduation. I have been working more on the spreads of my cookbook, adding in recipes, formatting text, and creating icons nonstop. I have a feeling I will be creating icons for the rest of my life. Do you know how hard it is to make icons for Picante Sauce, Salsa, and Taco Sauce and make it all look different? Its ridiculous! But, what can I say, I love a good challenge (Example A: This ENTIRE PROJECT).
I have also hit dilemmas as "Do I illustrate just a carrot for "1/2 cup diced carrots", or do I illustrate the carrots in a diced form? If I illustrate them diced, how do I make that look different than "1/2 cup diced butternut squash?!". Its funny how many things go overlooked in a planning process until you are neck deep into a project. But, I am carrying on!
By the level of difficulty this project is proving to be, I will plan on finishing this cookbook by the end of the summer. For the thesis show, I have decided to print a bunch of large printed posters showing my entire process from start to finish (aka my current state). I will be printing some spreads of my book on these posters to show my strategy, but will not be having a tangible book ready. I would rather a larger audience be able to view my work than one person at a time looking through a book. I am very excited to show my work thus far, and am going to just keep on truckin' on!
I will be ending my post this week with some more images of spreads- take a look!
Until next week-
