My refridgerator is running out of room!

Hello again! Over these past two weeks I have been up to my ears in olive oil, herbs, and various proteins & pastas. I ended up building a softbox for all of my photography (for consistency) and started writing/finalizing my recipes, cooking my food, and taking my food photography. One part of this project that I had initially overlooked was the aspect of Food Styling. I have really found a love for it, as well. Every piece of chicken, vegetable, anything and everything in these photos was hand placed. Its hard work, but proving to be well worth the time.

I also have finalized my cooking schedule Gantt chart which is proving to be extremely helpful to keeping me on task. Not only have I dedicated specific days to specific meals, but I've also calculated how many per week and shortened my personal deadline to allow more time for production. As of this moment, I have completed & photographed 14 recipes.

I have also decided that rather and illustrate every single step, I am only going to illustrate a glossary in the back of the book that specific keynotes ( * ) would refer you two if a recipe were to call for a certain technique or unfamiliar product. The reason I decided to adjust this part was in fear of having a muddled design. Since I am using such a clean layout, as well as clean photography, I was afraid in my efforts to simplify the directions through colorful iconography that the spreads would become far too busy and actually distract you away from the task at hand.

Also, I am currently talking with Amazon's CreateSpace Publishing and trying to get everything squared away and have a greater understanding as to how long it takes to produce a book, what aspect ratios they print at, etc. etc. I want the transition from designing to producing to be as smooth as possible to ensure that I can have printed copies available for the Thesis Show in April. Please take a look at some of the snapshots of my progress so far! I like to call this "a little digital taste of my thesis". Enjoy, and thank you!

And here are some closeups of my images setups & plating (these particular photos were actually taken with my iPhone, I'm saving the full res, final raw photos for my cookbook, sorry! ;D) Stay tuned!
